Marla Aaron Jewelry Studio

"It's a really small, ugly, dark space," Marla told Joanna when she contacted her for help. Together, Joanna and Marla envisioned what the former dismal office could be. Down came the dividing wall and out came the acoustic ceiling tiles to reveal the room's high ceilings and industrial pipes. The contractor removed vinyl floor tile and polished the worn, but beautiful, concrete floor. Marla chose wallpaper from Timorous Beasties for one wall. The rest of the walls were stripped and painted with chalk paint which highlights their interesting, rough texture and reveals the history of the industrial building. Joanna laid out the floor plan to maximize storage and workspace. She even found room for a mini kitchen. Custom cabinetry and built in desks take advantage of every inch. The result is a space that is pure Marla and Joanna combined; rich in texture and color and efficient and large-living.
